The Enquirer and the Rotary Club of Cincinnati are looking for ordinary volunteers doing extraordinary things. Do you know someone? Nominations for the Jefferson Award will be accepted through March 1, 2010.
Established in 1972 by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Senator Robert Taft Jr. and Sam Beard, the Jefferson Award honors those who do wonderful acts for others without the expectation of recognition. Finalists and one winner from the tri-state will be honored during a ceremony at the Rotary Club of Cincinnati's weekly luncheon meeting.
The local winner will represent our region at the Jefferson Awards national ceremony in Washington D.C. in June and the local winner and his/her volunteer organization will be featured in the pages of The Enquirer.
Nominations must be received by 3 p.m. on Monday, Marcy 1, 2010. Nomination forms are available online at http://www.cincinnati.com/jeffersonaward or at the Rotary Club's web site, www.cincinnatirotary.org. You can also call the Rotary Club at 513-421-1080.
